2 Hr 10,000 Islands Shelling Boat Tour
Daily Tours - 8:30, 11:00, 1:30, 4:00 Shelling is wonderful, especially, if you can shell on remote beaches that have not been picked over by others. Shell collecting the remote barrier island beaches of the 10,000 Islands is our specialty. Shelling on Marco Island and Captiva is great. They are both barrier islands, like those in the 10,000 Islands, but they both have 1000's of people on their beaches daily. Everglades Area Tours will take you to places that few shell collectors even know about. Places where few shell collectors can get to. The barrier islands of the 10,000 Islands offer exceptional, pristine shelling opportunities, but they are only accessible by boat. Come with us and experience shell collecting on remote barrier islands with a shelling guide who has decades of experience. While good shelling can be about being in the right place at the right time, knowing where and when is right, is extremely important. Good shell collectors do rely on luck. You will learn the nuances of tide, winds and locations that affect shelling, as well as, the information about the life cycle and habitat of different species. We will take you shelling in beautiful locations, but we also hope to improve you shelling knowledge. Your guide has this knowledge to share along with a knack for finding the Gulf Coast's most prized shell treasure, the Junonia. He collected 11 in 2013. Each tour is limited to just six guests, so reservations are required. This is a very popular tour that is often booked privately for family groups.
A hint … Many locations offer better shelling at the lower stages of the tides. Use this link to help you know when the tides are low and when to book your experience.
